Good morning to everyone except the person who jammed the HYPE orderbook on @Lighter_xyz to trigger a a cascade of liquidations.
FYI: This tactic succeeded on @HyperliquidX with $XPL but failed on @Lighter_xyz.
"Why is that?"
Liquidations are linked to the oracle price, sourced from other exchanges. You can inflate the mark price to any value, but it won't trigger a cascade of liquidations.
As a result, LLP profited significantly with its position exceeding $22M. The hacker kinda distributed the money to LLP holders and people who reacted quickly (i.e. shorted) within 5 minutes.
