Strongly agree with Jay but for different reasons. One of the distinctive characteristics of Solana is having so many projects that are SVM/Solana only. What was once considered a barrier of entry (SVM) became a moat and hindered foreign (EVM) opportunists from being able to extract. In addition, when you bring in an “outside” protocol to your ecosystem, it’s somewhat of a slap in the face to your Day 1 builders who proved out the viability of the ecosystem to begin with. This is assuming there isn’t a unique value prop that the “outside” protocol brings. In this particular instance it’s kinda whatever, especially if Uniswap didn’t get special incentives to deploy. The signal of Uniswap on Solana is much greater than the actual ecosystem impact. Uniswap and Dankrad probably got .ETHs gritting teeth right about now.
IMO it’s generally a bad idea for a project that specializes in one ecosystem to expand to another. Focus is the most scarce resource for most companies, and taking too many bets results often results in worse outcomes. Exceptions such as @MagicEden dominating in both Solana and BTC is the exception, not the norm.
